Scripture is Perfect
Today, I was about ready to get on my high horse about something inconsequential with a friend. I practically had to give my tongue a restraining order so I wouldn’t be spiteful, hurtful, bitter, and jealous. I sat, with my mouth clamped shut, even though I was sorely tempted to accuse a friend of not caring about poor little old me.
I began reading emails to distract myself and in there…was a Scripture, which reads as thus:
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. Romans 12:2 NKJV
Suitably chastised, I let it go. My whole indignant accusation went right out the window.
See, God gives you what you need when you need it. I’m not perfect and neither is anyone else, but God gives us what we need, at the exact moment we need it. It’s our job to pay attention, and sometimes that is the hardest part for me. It’s easy for me to get wrapped up in the emotions in a situation, and forget to pay attention.
This is just one little example of things that happen to prune a person, as if he or she were a grapevine.
Maybe some of you don’t even agree with me, and that’s all right. I’m not going to thump anyone over the head with a Bible or anything – all I can share is what I experience

I suppose I’d call it a “lightbulb moment”, what you just had. I definitely don’t agree about there being a god giving people what they need, because that just make me think that people who are dying of starvation in Africa don’t get food, people who are dying of torture don’t get rescued, etc …
But, I suppose that’s a whole different argument, and I don’t like arguing with my friends – what I like doing is listening to their views, thinking “gosh how weird”, putting forth my own view, and agreeing that atrocities aside, the world is a wonderful place and aren’t we all so lucky not only that we can not only choose to believe what we believe (or not, in my case), but we have the right of free speech to talk about it!
Blimey. Does that make sense?!
I,m proud to say this is my Grand Daughter. Keep it up LOVE G-Dad
