The Clippers
I gave Keenan a haircut today with a pair of $20 clippers I bought, following the advice of a friend. I think it turned out pretty well, given that I’ve never cut anyone’s hair before with clippers.
Before:This one was taken a couple of weeks ago.
And now…here is the finished product!
He’s very happy about his haircut. In fact, he’s thrilled with it. He even sat still and didn’t scream once. I have no idea whether the promise of peanut butter M&Ms had anything to do with that or not. He didn’t have any issues with me trimming around his ears or the back of his neck. He sat up there in the chair like a pro.
I think it will look even better tomorrow because he’s getting a bath tonight. I hope. There were a few rough edges that my eyes caught, and I took care of those.
You know, his ears don’t stick out as much as I thought they would. I’m glad about that because I didn’t mean to clip it that short. I really didn’t. It just sort of happened. One thing I do know for certain is that his dad is going to freak, and not in a good way. I have one thing to say : If he wants to pay for the haircuts and drag Keenan kicking and screaming to the barber and deal with the screaming, wailing, and gnashing of teeth, then so be it. Then, and only then, may he have a say in the length of his son’s hair.

A+++++ Callee! God, he is SO CUTE! His little ears are adorable, and so is his smile. I love it.
Aw he’s lovely! What a great haircut! You’ve done a really good job there. I tried to cut E’s hair with the clippers and absolutely butchered it. Well, the first time anyway. The second time it was okay, and the third time I thought it was quite good. However, it was quite stressful for both of us and it took me ages, so he just goes to the barber’s now instead.
I never tried cutting D’s hair with the clippers. Instead, he and E go to this old-fashioned barber’s and get a “dads and lads” discount. He loves it, as the barber always gives him a sweetie!
I’m so glad it turned out okay. I kind of panicked in the middle, but then I realized it wasn’t that bad
Keenan loves it and that’s all that matters
He looks so different that I did a double take this morning when I got him up for school.
Good job! I do Fionn’s with the buzzer too. It’s easy to err however and that’s why Fionn got a real tight one the last time, I used the wrong gauge and had to cut it all the same lenght following the initial deep cut – so to speak.
It certainly makes economical sense too!
